A passion for great food!
For as long as I can remember, I have always been a foodie. I love cooking, I love learning
about different foods, and I certainly love eating. Starting in middle school when I got my first job
in restaurant near my house, to almost 25 years later, I still enjoy everything about food.
BBQ came a little later to the game. In 2009ish, I worked with a guy who used to do competitive
BBQ, and often times, he would make lunch for all of us. I was hooked. Fell in love with it on the
spot. I went out and bought myself a cheap offset smoker, a few racks of ribs, and some cook
wood. Went home and got started. I spent hours babysitting that smoker and those ribs, and
finally when the time came, I dug right in with pure excitement.
They were the most disgusting ribs I ever tasted. Dry, WAY TOO SMOKEY, and unbelievably
disappointing.
That’s when I decided I needed to probably learn what I was doing prior to trying to cook them
again. Countless hours of research, reading, youtubing, and trial and error later, I was happy
enough with my product to start letting people try it. Friends and family ate plenty, offered
feedback, what was good, what was bad, and it was back to the lab again.
Fast forward to October 2020. My first ever BBQ competition, a charity event in West Chester
PA. We got 1st place ribs and third overall. The competition bug bit me. Since then, I have done
probably 40 contests. It’s always a learning process and a desire to be the best, and I carry that
same attitude into my food business.
Weber’s Backyard BBQ is a mobile food vendor (food trailer) in Montgomery County, PA. We
can handle any event you may be having - birthdays, graduations, weddings, corporate events,
just to name a few.
With nearly 20 years in the public safety field, I understand that the customer expects the
highest quality of service all of the time. In the fire department, you need to be on your A game all
time - the customer expects it. I carry the same philosophy in my food trailer - the customer
expects top quality and I strive to bring it to you. Anybody can be a customer once ; my goal is
for you to return.
